I came across this quote of ‘Ibn Taymeeyah in Majmu’ al-Fatawaa while researching another topic. It discusses the false ‘Usuul ad-Deen as Fasaad ad-Deen, and the difference between the two.
That the People of Kalaam allege that the People of Hadeeth and Sunnah are People of Taqleed, not People of Investigation and Inference, and that they reject the Rational Proofs. And perhaps rejection of delving into (some matters) has been related on authority of some of the ‘Aa’immah of the Sunnah, and this is whereof they reject them.
